Ashingtonia is an English journal that was produced by Holly Gate Cactus Nursery from 1973 to 1979. The editor was John Donald (picture right). From 1973 to 1976, the journal was made of 6 issues per year with many colour pictures. Although the size of the journal was odd and the typographical layout sometimes surprising, the content was of good quality in spite of some errors.
In 1977, the publication became erratic, and in 1978 of poorer typographical quality in spite of the control of John Donald. Finally, the journal died in 1979.

The journal is slightly more focused on cacti than on other succulents, with an emphasis on Rebutia, Sulcorebutia, Weingartia… If the printing quality is low, the aricles are of value.
