This is the second book devoted to cacti that was published in 1926 by Schelle. It is in Roman script and thus it is more easily readable than Handbuch der Kakteenkultur written in Fraktur script and published in 1907. It is made of 368 page of text essentially focused of plant description and 70 pages of B&W pictures. In the classification and nomenclature of cacti Schelle remained conservative: He followed to a large extent the system of Karl Schumann, which was still generally used at that time among cactus enthusiasts and dealers in Germany.
