Help!

A friend gave me this cactus in hope that I could save it. I'm generally good with plants but don't have much experience with cactus. I've tried a pestacide with no luck. I don't even know what kind of cactus this is.Is there anyway to save it? Will what ever it has affect the other cactus in with it?
Please help!!!!

I think you can drop this Euphorbia in the garbage.

Greetings Allison. Is there a possibility that this plant froze? For a Euphorbia to look thgis bad it usually means it froze or that it was exposed to flame. Unfirtunately, with a Euphorbia at this stage, it is toast. Were it a cactus, one could cut the bad out and re-root the rest, but the vascular system on these are quite different.

When playing around with a Euphorbia, especially the ones that look like this, be wary of the sap. Some people react to the white sap like the sap of Poison Ivy. Sorry I can't be more positive.

On the bright side, the Euphorbias like these get too big to make good houseplants, so to assuage your loss, you should go out and buy some smaller succulents. clin d'oeil

Hello Allison,

Your Euphorbia (it's not a cactus) seems dead triste ou déçu
Maybe not : cut all the black parts, and keep only the green and healthy tissues.
Then if there is something left, cross your finger for the plant to grow again.

Be carefull with the white liquid: its latex which can be irritating on the skin.

Good luck

Yann (France, Clermont-Ferrand). Serre tenue hors-gel + pleine terre un peu abritée. -10°C tous les hivers.
